Bongi Gcaba is the Managing Director of MG PMO Consulting and a seazonex project management and PMO professional with over 30 years of experience in public infrastructure. From 2011 to 2025, he served as Chief Director for Infrastructure Development at the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Health, where he played a pivotal role in overseeing large-scale infrastructure programmes.

In 2018, Bongi contributed as a member of the government’s Infrastructure Delivery Management System (IDMS) Review Team, helping shape national standards for infrastructure delivery. He also serves on the Durban University of Technology (DUT) Construction Studies Advisory Board, providing guidance on advancing construction education and industry alignment.

Academically, Bongi holds an MSc in Project Management (Construction) from the University of Pretoria and an MBA from the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN). He is currently pursuing a PhD in Construction Management at UKZN, focusing his research on developing an improvement framework for operations and maintenance management of public health hospital infrastructure in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.
